Each year, the Ohio Small Business Development Centers measure their counseling and training results to determine the effectiveness of the individual and regional center operations.
The measures are taken on a county-by-county basis and subtotaled into economic regions. The SBDC at Kent State Stark is part of Region 9. The study is conducted through Ohio University, using IMPLAN, a software system designed to serve three functions: 1) data retrieval, 2) data reduction and model development and
3) impact analysis.
The 2008 results show that the Small Business Development Center at Kent State Stark is an active partner in the economic development of Stark and Wayne counties, directly and indirectly contributing approximately $531 million to the
local economy.
