Small Business Orientation Class
The Ohio Small Business Development Center, Kent State University at Stark conducts an orientation session for adults interested in starting a small business in Stark or Wayne County, and those who are in the early stages of business formation in these counties.
This informational program provides an overview of issues related to starting a business, including:
- Local and regional resources that are available to help you
- The right business type for you
- Liability, zoning and naming the business
- Where to find all the forms for starting a business
- What you need when you add employees
- Financing your business
Each participant will leave with a program packet filled with handouts and other useful information and is eligible to make an appointment for individualized counseling with a business advisor.

A $10, per person, non-refundable, non-transferable, materials fee is required and payable by MasterCard or Visa at the time of registration. You may select from a list of dates after choosing the appropriate county. Seminars are geared toward adults. We are unable to accommodate infants and children. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
